Absorbine® – Over 130 Years of Caring for Horses

Sometimes something great begins with a simple belief: there has to be a better way. The story of Absorbine® starts in late 19th-century Massachusetts, where Mary Ida Young – herbalist and devoted horsewoman – set out to find a more humane alternative to the harsh treatment methods of her time.

In an era when painful, aggressive remedies were commonly used to treat injuries, Mary Ida developed a unique blend of herbs and essential oils. A formula designed to stimulate circulation and support recovery – without burning or damaging the skin.

Together with her husband Wilbur, she used the formula daily on their own horses. The results spoke for themselves. What began as a solution for personal use quickly grew into a product sought after by trainers and riders alike: Absorbine® Veterinary Liniment was born.
