The Van Doorn Exclusief Royal Patent Shine Set offers complete care in three steps: cleaning, nourishing and shining. With this set, your patent leather boots get everything they need: a thorough clean, nourishment and protection, and a deep, luxurious shine. The set has been specially developed for patent leather and is ideal for both daily use and competitions. Why patent leather needs different care

Patent leather has a sealed, high-gloss top layer and therefore behaves differently from smooth leather. Without the right care, the material can dry out, causing it to lose its shine and eventually show signs of cracking or crazing.

The Royal Patent Shine Set combines three steps that together ensure thorough cleaning, nourishment and a lastingly beautiful shine, tailored to the specific properties of patent leather.

Instructions for use: the 3-step system

Step 1 – Cleaning (Derma Leather Cleaner)
Use the Derma Leather Cleaner to clean the patent leather before applying No.1. Do not use water: water can leave limescale marks on the patent leather. Also avoid using a brush: patent leather boots are prone to scratching, so always clean with a soft cloth or sponge.

Only use the cleaner when the leather is actually dirty, and always treat the leather with No.1 again after cleaning.

Step 2 – Nourishing & protecting (Royal Patent Shine No.1)
Apply Royal Patent Shine No.1 – Care & Protection to clean patent leather. Let it absorb briefly, then buff it out to a deep, even high gloss.

Step 3 – Maintaining & shine (Royal Patent Spray No.2)
Use Royal Patent Spray No.2 when the patent leather becomes duller or lightly soiled. This instantly restores the shine and keeps the patent leather in top condition. The spray can be used daily and is ideal for a quick refresh just before a competition.

Our care advice

Only use the Cleaner when the patent leather is dirty, and always treat it with No.1 again afterwards. Use the No.2 Royal Patent Spray for light, daily maintenance and to quickly restore the shine in between full care routines.

This keeps your patent leather healthy, supple and protected for the long term, with a well-cared-for appearance that retains its shine.

Not suitable for regular smooth leather

The Royal Patent Shine Set is specifically developed for patent leather and is not intended for regular smooth leather. For saddles, bridles and other smooth leather products, we recommend the Van Doorn Exclusief Derma Leather System: the Derma Leather Cleaner, Conditioner and (PU) Protection.
