How to choose the right size Samshield helmet?

Choosing the right size is important for both safety and comfort. A properly fitting helmet offers the right protection and prevents discomfort while riding. Here's how to find your ideal Samshield helmet size.

Refer to the Samshield size chart

Samshield offers various size options based on head circumference in centimeters. Sizes range from 52 to 61. Measure your head and choose the matching size from the Samshield chart. Size 53 = 53 cm head, Size 54 = 54 cm, and so on.

Tips for finding the right fit

  • Does the helmet lift when you put it on? It's too small – go for a larger liner.
  • Does it press against your forehead? Try a half-liner to reduce pressure in front.
  • Is size 56S uncomfortable? Try 55M – it has thicker padding for stability and comfort.
  • Note: liners will compress over time due to sweat and natural oils. A snug fit is okay, but it should never feel too tight.

Check the official Samshield size chart for reference.

Understanding shell sizes

Samshield helmets come in different models and shell sizes:

  • Miss Shield & Shadow:
    S = 52–56
    M = 55–58
    L = 57–61
    XL = 61–64
  • XJ/XC & XJ Miss (oval fit):
    M = 53–58
    L = 57–61

This system allows the helmet to grow with the rider. Simply change the liner for a larger size without buying a new shell.

How to measure your helmet size

Use a flexible measuring tape around the widest part of your head (about 2 cm above the eyebrows, across the back of your head and ears). Size 53 = 53 cm head circumference, and so on.

Important: If you wear your hair inside the helmet, choose one size up – but note this may affect fit and safety.
