Unika Balls: nutrition and mental enrichment in one — the supplement your horse regulates itself

A completely new concept in complementary feed for horses. Discover the six Unika Balls variants.

Complementary feeds are usually offered as powders or liquids — products that need to be weighed and administered daily. Unika Balls introduce a different concept: a solid complementary feed in ball form that the horse can take in throughout the day according to its own needs by licking the ball. Thanks to a rope made from natural fibres, the ball is easy to hang in the stable, trailer or paddock.

The balls are handmade in Italy by Linea Unika and consist of 93% plant-based ingredients. They contain no sugar grains, added sugars or artificial colourings, making them suitable for horses with grain intolerance, horses that need to avoid sugar and sport horses whose energy management needs to be carefully monitored.

Nutrition and wellbeing in one — without daily preparation.

Horse licking a Unika Ball

How it works and how to use it

Contact with the ball stimulates saliva production. Saliva naturally helps neutralise stomach acid and supports healthy digestion. At the same time, the ball provides sensory and mental stimulation, contributing to your horse's overall wellbeing.

Intake is gradual and regulated by the horse itself. As with any new supplement, always introduce Unika Balls gradually into the diet.

The six variants

The range consists of six variants, each developed for a specific need of the horse.

Unika Ball Elyte

Elyte

Developed for horses that lose mineral salts through sweating. Electrolytes such as sodium, chloride and potassium are essential for muscle function, nerve conduction, fluid balance, performance and recovery. The Elyte ball replenishes this loss continuously and gradually. Always ensure free access to fresh water when using this product.

Unika Ball Endurance

Endurance

Specially formulated for horses that train intensively and perform at competition level. Rice flour is naturally rich in gamma-oryzanol, a compound that supports muscle growth. Coconut oil (MCT) provides readily available energy without lactic acid production. Soluble electrolytes compensate for salt loss; magnesium helps reduce the risk of muscle tremors caused by fatigue; amino acids support intestinal movement and muscle recovery.

Unika Ball Gastro

Gastro

Suitable for horses with a sensitive stomach or horses that express stress through gastric discomfort. The ball contains charcoal and liquorice, ingredients that support stomach wellbeing. Licking also stimulates saliva production, which helps naturally neutralise stomach acid.

Unika Ball Crib Biting

Crib Biting

Developed for horses that crib bite, windsuck or show other repetitive behaviours. Plant-based ingredients stimulate saliva production and contribute to better stomach condition. Improvements in weight, coat quality and general behaviour have been described with use.
